Out again on Monday 5th with Sarah and George, just had two hours on the lures around the forts and had the first 13 lure caught bass of the year. Only fished for two hours and was pleased to see the birds working for the first time this year. Only two bass were undersize and the best one was about 4lb."

26/04/08 : Andy (snowy) caught Bass, Smoothhound, Whiting and Pout during the day just outside Sandown bay using Peeler Crab for bait, he says "Took my wife out just to check the lobster pot and get the first of the ebb on the rough ground outside Sandown Bay. Got off to a good start with two decent lobsters in the pot so that was tea sorted. Fished the first two hours of the ebb with peeler baits. The first few got robbed by pout and whiting before my wife had a typical smoothhound bite and run which resulted in a 7.5lb Bass! (only 993 to go). I then had a fat pregnant smoothie which went 14lb - best one so far this year for me. Lovely out there, absolutely flat calm. Shirt off for the first time this year!"
